We recommend that all children have a routine eye exam before starting kindergarten. Vision is such an integral part of learning, therefore, it is vital to make sure the child is using their eyes together and that they can see the best they can without straining. Thus, preventing turned and lazy eyes that lead to later problems in life. The eye examination procedure is simple, and easy for children. They need not be concerned or scared of the eye doctor.
There is much more to an eye exam than being able to read 20/20. An eye exam can detect glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy and high blood pressure changes to the blood vessels.
Dry eye is very common as we age. Problems with dry eye include blurry vision, tearing, burning, and/or discharge. Many people describe a “sandy or gritty” feeling in their eyes.
